We've shot these scopes on .223(s), .308(s), and my 12 gauge shotgun. They take recoil, hold zero, and look good doing it.
The Strikefire's my personal favorite for the AR and has all the bells and whistles of a top quality scope, while the Simmons is the best shotgun red dot I've ever seen on my 590. I can touch three slug rounds at 50 yards with a standard barrel.
I guarantee you'll be happy with either one.
